Coral Pleas opened Cutting Loose Salon during the 2008 economic recession and turned it into a multi-million dollar company in under three years, with four award-winning salons and 70+ employees in 2016. She credits her success to providing the exceptional experiences for her loyal clientele that can only happen through highly trained staff.

Compassionate and not afraid to take risks, Coral parlayed her best practices into The Pleas Formula, a consultancy that provides advanced education and systems to independent salon owners and sytlists. She wanted to empower salon owners to be better business partners, giving them the keys to propel their growth through customer development and retention. Building on her proprietary Protégé Academy where she recruits and trains emerging stylists for Cutting Loose Salon, Coral also wanted to offer specialized classes in French haircutting and Balayage to all stylists—to not only master their craft, but also increase their average ticket.

Coral holds a vision of infusing the beauty industry with much needed quality education and mentors. This is why she’s also a member of Intercoiffure Mondial America/Canada (the highly selective professional association that sets the standards) where she has served on the Board of Directors and as Secretary. Coral is a Master Stylist who is certified as a National Educator and Platform Artist for Paul Mitchell in the US and the UK. She presents at educational events in London, Miami, and New York.
